Over the last couple years there have been a couple noticeable jumps in webcam technology and the Logitech C930E has implemented them and earned 321Chat's Top Pick for 2017 Webcams with a score of 5/5.
Where this webcam excels is its ability to display crisp video even when moving around. However it will take some settings manipulation to get the most out of this cam. We found a great tutorial on YouTube for increasing the frame rate of the C930E. There they give 3 things to try. 1: Disable Low Light Compensation. 2: Set Video Format To M.JPEG and 3: Download your motherboard drivers.
Once you have the settings right this thing works beautifully! The only down side is the price, which comes in at $130.
It came as a complete shock that our number #2 Cam this year, was our top pick from our 2013 webcam review. The C920 is still a very good webcam. The only thing that has changed since our last review is the price. This camera was about $100 but you can now get it for $60 on Amazon with free Prime shipping. The combination of features and its low price makes it the clear pick for 321Chat's Best Value Pick. (I personally have this webcam, and have no complaints)
As good as the C920 is, we gave it 4 out of 5 because there are simply better options available. Better video under various lighting conditions and better frame rates (less motion blur).
The C922 is Logitech's upgrade to the C920 which has been the webcam by which all others were judged (for the last several years). The feature that is touted the loudest is its 60 FPS streaming capability. Something that sounds better than it actually is; its hard to tell the difference difference between 60 FPS and 30 FPS. That particular feature aside this is a great cam that has made small upgrades to what was and is already a great product.
The coolest features of this cam is not found in its hardware but rather its software. The C922 allows you to separate yourself from the background mimicking green screen effects used in block buster movies.
