Anybody living in a different country than their birthplace?

Where are you from and where do you live?

How do you feel when you walk around?

Do you feel like an outsider, comfortable or uncomfortable?

I'm Dutch, living in the UK for a time. I feel like an outsider (because I am!) though people are pretty nice here. I don't feel that people have the correct references here to categorise me so I find myself feeling like more of an oddity than a stereotype. I often feel like an explorer, or an infiltrator wandering around experiencing a world that I wasn't supposed to witness.

What is your experience?

I have lived in a few other countries for short stints, and I tour extensively playing much.

But, I will say, even going back to my hometown to visit my parents having not lived there for years feels a bit alien - familiar streets with different faces, memories faded into dust, that uneasy happy / sad feeling…

I can only relate slightly to your situation, but I hope it improves for you and you feel at home no matter where you lay your head.
