Conservatism

Real conservatism means conserving what you have. Conservatism mean cherishing good moral values.

Conservative people care about the economy they see macroeconomic financial responsibility and seek to reduce or eliminate debt. Liberal people spend.

The problem with socialists is that they eventually run out of other peoples' money.

The problem with conservatives is that they see no issue with taking away peoples rights.

That is not true at all.

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freeoms is supported by liberals and conservatives. Pierre Trudeau, a great man, one of Canada's best people, and a personal hero of mine brought in the charter and it was passed with both liberal and conservative support.

Legally, rights are always enshrined by and are the domain of the most hardcore conservatives. Myself included. Rights are at the very foundation of libertarianism. If you don't believe me, then look up the definition.

Rights are extraodinarily important. The U.S. constitution declares the rights of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". So there you have it. The States, the most conservative nation in the world (except for Israel) mentions rights right there in the constitution.

When I say conservative, I don't mean radical or fundamental, like the fuckin islamic states or anything like that. RIghts are about libertarianism, which in turn, is the foundation for conservatism, because libertarianism ensures the legal backing of a free society, and it keeps the big government away from our rights, and the most central right in libertarianism and as an extension conservatism, is the right to own private property.

I don't know why you say conservatives don't care about rights? I would argue the exact opposite actually.

Yes, but morals are not a set value as the differ from person to person, so moral arguments really are a mute point because there will never be a consensus, and it will be the same with conservatives vs liberals.

There will never be a middle ground, there will never be compromise.

So morally each party or faction are both right and wrong at the same time.

Fiscally, too much conservatism or too much liberalism damages the public purse. As much as having a budget that is in surplus, it doesn't help borrowing power. Borrow too much and the public purse needs to be topped up usually with new or an increase of taxes/levy's.

So instead of voting for personalities or parties, we should be voting for policy.

Interesting points. However, voting for 'policies' is useless.

Policies are amorphous are constantly changing and shifting. I vote for leadership abilities. To be honest, I am not concerned with a leader's politics. The main thing I look for when deciding who to vote for is 'vision'. If I think a leader has 'vision', then I will usually vote for them. If I think they are just in it for themselves or for some other crappy reason that I don't understand, then I won't vote for them.

For example, I am concervative, but I support Justin Trudeau. Justin Trudeau is a good leader, regardless of his so-called politics.

yeah, politics these days, well certainly in Australia, has pretty much become a case of 'same shit, different arseholes' unfortunately.

LMFAO What the hell are you on? Do you even know what the word "conservative" means? Last time I checked it's liberals who are still trying to take away gun laws, free speech, immigration laws in my country. Conservatives are the ones fighting to keep peoples rights in place.

Gordon Ramsey Idiot GIF

Conservatism is upholding the traditional ethics of a group and refusing to have them altered, which essentially means conservatives can be present in any group, regardless of ideology.
